three line tales week 120: a ballerina in a dark underpass

The 5 year old was left in an awe when her father said,”Spread your wings my child and soar high into that vast, limitless sky which awaits you. Let the oceans be nothing but a narrow trickle of water to you, but mind your feet my girl, for they should never leave the ground.”

The tired and crumbled soul of hers re-read those lines. Ironing the creases of her old photograph, she whispered,”I guess i understood the world better back then Father!”

  1. Some things are easier to understand when you are five. Being an adult often confuses things.
